Damn this thing is good. Finally we have a cost effective solution that is well made. For this price I am even tempted to get another one. The bonus is this thing works on a slider. It has these inset rubber wheels which fits into the slider. That was a huge bonus. The remote control is a little quirky because it goes at the slightest touch, but I can live with that.
This thing arrived practically as soon as I had ordered it. Build quality is substantial. Has a sturdy feel. It works as advertised with any DSLR. Make for really good pan and roll footage. I recommend this device for a video production.
Solid metal. Very sturdy. 3 speeds are handy and it does a variety of arcs which is cool. I have a camera mounted on a ball joint and it’s still powerful enough to move it no problem. Only caveats. Using it on marble countertop was fine but make sure it is clean or the wheels slip. Makes an audible whine that the camera picks up, but didn’t try it with a shotgun mic. No problem if you’re going to add audio at edit.
I have done about 100 videos using this and love it. I love the fact you can change speeds, direction, turns, etc. It exceeded my expectations. I had been wanting a very similar item that cost almost $400. This one has been perfect and for well underneath what I was going to pay. Typically in videography and photography, you get what you pay for.....with this item, great piece of equipment for a great price. We go on the road a lot for our work, this is actually going on the road with us!
